背景回顾:Toacquiresufficientmineralnutrientssuchasphosphate(Pi)fromthesoil,mostplantsengageinsymbiosiswitharbuscularmycorrhizal(AM)fungi.Attractedbyplant-secretedstrigolactones,thefungicolonizetherootsandformhighly-branchedhyphalstructurescalledarbusculesinsideinnercortexcells.Thehostplantmustcontrolthedifferentstepsofthisinteractiontomaintainitssymbioticnature.
